The Korean Government is offering a Global Korean Government Scholarship to outstanding Undergraduates and Graduate students at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Korea in 2019.

Korean government invites 780 international students from 156 countries, for the degree (Master’s & Doctoral) and non-degree research programs in Korea through the Korean Government Scholarship.

Global Korean Government Scholarship is a Fully Funded Scholarship & will cover all the expenses of the applicants. Last Year 700 students were selected for a scholarship in Korea.

Duration:

Duration period of Global Korean Government Scholarship:

Doctoral Degree Program: 4 years (2019. 9. 1. ~ 2023. 8. 31.)
1 year of Korean language program
3 years of a regular degree program
Master’s Degree Program: 3 years (2019. 9. 1. ~ 2022. 8. 31.)
1 year of Korean language program
2 years of the degree program
Research Program: 6 Months (2019. 9. 1. ~ 2020. 2. 29.)

Eligibility:

In order to apply for Global Korean Government Scholarship you need to fulfill following eligibility criteria:

  1. Both an applicant and his/her parents must be citizens of their country of origin.
  2. Applicants should not hold Korean citizenship.
  3. Applicants should have adequate health, both mentally and physically, to stay in a foreign country for a long time.
  4. Should be under 25 years of age at the date of entrance. (Undergraduate)
  5. Should be under 40 years of age at the date of entrance. (Graduate)
  6. Have finished or be scheduled to finish formal education of all elementary, middle, high school courses by the date of arrival. (Undergraduate)
  7. Possess a grade point average (G.P.A.) above 80% from the last educational institution attended.
  8. Hold a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree by the date of arrival. (Graduate)
  9. Applicants who have previously achieved in any undergraduate program, master’s program, or doctoral program in Korea cannot apply for this program.
  10. However, a former or current KGSP scholar who holds the overall grade of 90% or above can reapply to this program once either through the embassy or university track.
